Dedicated to the memory of Richard (28)

This site is a tribute to Richard . He is much loved and will always be remembered.

You can use this page to read details about the funeral, donate money to his chosen charities (not manditory) and write your own personal messages that can be read by his friends and family.

Richard was a gentleman, he was one of a kind. We felt it was fitting to make his service unique to him.

Although Richard spent the last few months living in the Wirral, we will be bringing him back to his beloved home of Wales and the service will be held at Memoria crematorium in Flintshire.

The service will be held at 3pm - sunset time becuase he loved to see the sunrise and sunset. He chose to leave us as the sun was rising, so his family felt this was a fitting tribute.

The service will be conducted in his beautiful language of British Sign Language, there will be a voiceover into English.

Richard had many friends who he treasured dearly, and was very active in groups and clubs. We would like to ask for his golf friends to wear their club t-shirts, his walking groups to wear their boots and DCCCUK to have a symbol that feels fitting to you. Mourners are not required to wear black, and it is accepted this is personal preference.

Richard was a trailblazer and a leader, both metaphorically and physically. He always walked very fast, and led walking groups for many years. As a trubute to this, we ask that at the service, you do not enter the room before him, and follow behind the coffin.

At the service you will also be given a flower. The celebrant will indicate a time where you can place the flower on his coffin. We encourage you to have a quiet monent of thought with him.

For those who are unable to attend, we will be streaming the service, we will post details of this at later date.

We would like to thank Chester Deaf Club who have kindly agreed to hold the wake. The address is : Chester Deaf Club Chester Deaf Centre, South View Road, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 4JG

As Richard loved nature, we intend to scatter his ashes in the “forget me not” fields which over look the river Dee and Wales next spring / summer. This will be combined with a DCCUK event and his friends will be invited to say their final goodbyes to him.

Richard’s daughters, Vickie and Kate and his Step daughters Lindsay and Hayley would like to thank you for many years of friendship. Richard was a true gentleman and the outpouring of grief and love is a true testament to what an amazing man he was.
